Richard Rubin
Upon admission as an international partner in the tax division of Arthur Andersen, Richard left and went into private practice specializing in taxes on large multinational projects. The practice focused on project tax planning and the related adaptation of contractual arrangements. After being joined by a number of former Andersen colleagues, Richard consulted primarily to utilities, oil and gas, petrochemical and base metals industries. During this period Richard also lectured to undergraduates and postgraduates on tax, co-authored a book on VAT, and acted as external tax counsel to KPMG. Since 2000 Richard has been based in the Atlanta office, and travels frequently to the offices in London and Johannesburg. He advises on domestic and foreign tax planning and consequences of cross border transactions. Richard is admitted to practice law in the United States (New York), and South Africa (Gauteng).
Graham Fryer
Upon qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (S.A.) with Goldby Compton & Mackelvie (now Deloitte), Graham transferred to the firm’s tax practice and obtained post graduate tax qualification. He then joined and became a director of Fairheads Trust, where he specialized in the taxation of high net worth families, trusts and estate planning. Graham joined the tax division of Arthur Andersen as a senior manger and local partner, where was involved with all aspects of South African tax, with a special focus on estate planning and the tax affairs of high net worth families.Graham is a registered tax practitioner based in Johannesburg and for the past 16 years has been dealing with a wide variety of tax engagements, including both high net worth individuals and corporate clients in the utility and oil and gas industries.
Peter Todd
After being admitted as an attorney in South Africa, Peter joined the tax division of Arthur Andersen. In 1993 Peter went into private tax practice with a number of former Andersen colleagues, where he specialized in property related tax consulting as well as high net worth individuals, estate planning and cross border issues.Peter moved to the British Virgin Islands in 2001 where he became a director of Osiris International Trustees Ltd. The focus here was advising high net worth individuals on international tax structuring as well as the formation of mutual funds and hedge funds.Peter moved to London in 2005 where he continues to focus on tax in relation to high net worth individuals and the property industry.
